Adrenaline – How it affects an Athlete?

EFFECTS OF ADRENALINE ON THE BODY

ADRENALINE AND NUTRITION
During each workout, an athlete feels the rush that of natural hormone. This process cannot be observed, but high levels of adrenaline in the blood lead to accelerated metabolism, which itself leads to a larger consumption of energy. Ultimately, the process of the hormone release also appears when having heavy physical exercise.
This is due to the fact that when a person starts to get tired, the body perceives such loads as a threat and begins to produce more "stress hormone." In addition, each subsequent workout becomes more efficient at burning fat. It is very important after a workout to eat some food, because that reduces the effects of stress hormones on the body. Otherwise, the process will delay the recovery of muscle tissue and the effectiveness of training will fall sharply.
Take foods rich in carbohydrates. They contribute to the release of insulin, which reduces the effect of epinephrine and cortisol. Also, due to excess insulin, glucose is transferred to a new "reserve" and not in the form of glycogen and fat.
What benefits or harms can adrenaline bring to the body?
As mentioned above, adrenaline is primarily intended for the preparation of the body to face stressful situations. Overall, the body enters a "changing" process. However, adrenaline can bring some harm.
First, the increased blood pressure adversely affects the heart. If the level of adrenaline in the blood increases often, this may be one of the causes for the arrhythmia.
Secondly, adrenaline is a very strong hormone and it is quite difficult for the body to withstand the load it receives. To reduce, the body begins to release norepinephrine, which then gives the opposite effect. When the adrenaline is in action, norepinephrine still remains in the blood, and there comes a state of relaxation. The longer you remain in a stressful condition, the longer will last the so-called "confusion".
Thirdly, and most importantly, the long-term effects of adrenaline are on the adrenal gland. This is a very dangerous process. In medicine, there is even a special term for it - acute adrenal insufficiency. The consequences of this condition can be very severe.
ADRENALINE AND EXCITEMENT
The euphoric feeling that occurs when large amounts of the hormone enter the blood is known to many. People who participate in extreme sports experience this condition very often. In medicine, the term "adrenaline addiction" is sometimes used. These feelings are almost impossible to forget and some start looking for an opportunity to go through them again. Of course, the most effective way to do this are extreme sports. Note for example, in skydiving, the flow of adrenaline is mind-boggling. There are special drugs for increasing the level of adrenaline, but artificial adrenaline is quite different.
